Job Description:

A Certified Optician/Optician is responsible for helping customers achieve the correct type of eyeglasses, lens shape, or contact lenses in accordance with their eyesight or eye conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Receiving prescriptions for contact lenses or eyeglasses.
• Measuring the faces and eyes of customers to ensure proper fit.
• Assisting customers in choosing eyeglass frames and lenses.
• Evaluating prescriptions in conjunction with patients’ visual needs.
• Adjusting or designing custom contact lenses and frames.
• Inspecting lenses for quality and adjusting eyewear.
• Instructing customers on eyeglass and contact lens care.
• Interpreting eye exam results with prescriptions.
• Recommending lenses, coatings, and frames.
• Measuring and adjusting frames for proper fit.
